About Fama Sarr

I was previously on the pre-med track, but once I took a class in Public Health, I knew that I had found a new passion that also helps people like I have always wanted. I aim to incorporate the skills I learned from my time being an MPH student into my future Microbiology research on how we can better treat diabetes and other chronic diseases. Work experience- I was a peer tutor at the University of Georgia, where I helped college students with their homework assignments and taught bioscience concepts- Currently, I work as a graduate research assistant with the Dolan Lab at UGA, where I assess science students' experiences in research and their courses to predict their career trajectory. Volunteer Experience- I volunteered at Oasis Catolico Santa Rafaela, where I tutored kids from K-5 online and helped them get physically active - I volunteered as a peer learning assistant, where I assisted students with their work in Chemistry discussion courses
