About Fan Wang

In my current role at The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens, I partner with the construction contractor, garden designers, and business team to complete the Chinese Garden’s expansion, and ensure the project objectives are met. This is a 27-million and 8-acre construction project that involves importing 20-container construction materials and 55 Chinese artisans working on-site for 7 months. In addition, I coordinate with donors, local government, community-based organizations, Huntington members, and volunteers to achieve the fundraising goal. Working with multiple softwares, I organize and track development of the fundraising efforts in order to meet various deadlines. I am agile-minded and experienced in event planning and executing. During numerous small and large-scale events, I communicate with a cross-functional team within the institution, including communications, catering, security, facilities, and senior staff. I quickly identify the event objectives and goals, update various departments and stakeholders on a regular basis, and manage briefing meetings after the event’s completion. The large events that I have managed including Harvest Moon Celebration, an annual public event that contains 30 food vendors, 3 musical groups, a 5-acre event space and hosts guests and San Marino Day, a 900+-guest event which involves 20 local organizations, 3 entertainment vendors and multiple internal programming departments. By analyzing, comparing, and synchronizing the donors and gifts data, I convert findings into narrative for presentations at internal meetings to report the team’s fundraising strategies and status. At the planning stage, I proactively identify project risks and conflicts and work with management to resolve them. I am detail-oriented, but also creative and passionate about managing through each project’s life cycle. I enjoy working with team members with a diverse background and I am enthusiastic about the new challenges.
