About Fan Yu

Fan Yu is a Ph.D. candidate at McGill University, an R&D engineer at CATL company, and a Battery scientist specializing in LIBs, SSLIBs, and Na-ion batteries. At McGill University, he majored in Materials Engineering and is developing fast-charging electrodes for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) and solid-state lithium-ion batteries (SSLIBs). He is also involved in volunteering for energy-storage communities as & Co-chair of the Outreach and Communication Committee, McGill's Centre for Innovation in Conversion & Storage of Energy (McISCE), A peer reviewer of Nature Communications, A contributor and editor of Battery Report (2022)_Volta Foundation Before McGill, he had work experience as a Research & Development (R&D) engineer designing and manufacturing high-energy-density commercial LIBs in Contemporary Amperex Technology Co, Limited (CATL) During his master period, he developed advanced electrodes for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) and engineered functional catalysts for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR).
