About Fani Willis

I currently serve as the Elected District Attorney of Fulton County. Fulton County is home to 15 cities including Atlanta. Fulton County is Georgia’s most populous county. I previously served as Chief Magistrate Judge for my city, the City of South Fulton. In that role, I heard and decided on a variety of cases. I also served as the managing partner for the Law Offices of Fani T. Willis, LLC. I received my license to practice law in the State of Georgia after graduating from Emory Law School in 1996. I received my Bachelor of Arts from Howard University in December of 1992. Prior to the relaunch of my firm in August of 2018, I served as Deputy District Attorney in the Office of the Fulton County District Attorney, where I supervised in excess of 25 lawyers. I served in the Fulton County District Attorneys Office for over 16 years. My experience is as a negotiator and litigator. I have tried well in excess of 100 jury trials and many bench trials as lead counsel. Cases I have litigated have received widespread media coverage and are the subject of books and/or television movies and documentaries. I am also a skilled supervisor, teacher, and motivator. I have taught both in college classrooms as well as classes targeting young prosecutors. Over the course of my 27 year career, I have represented clients in civil, domestic, juvenile, family law and criminal cases.
