About Farhad Habibi

Before joining the City of Brampton, Farhad was a Forensic Engineer at Caskanette Udall Consulting. He completed his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at the University of Toronto and obtained a BASc in Civil Engineering at the McMaster University. Farhad's interests include design of reinforced concrete, steel and timber structures, monitoring and condition assessment of buildings and infrastructures, forensic engineering, and project management. Prior to Caskanette Udall, Farhad worked at the University of Toronto as a Research Assistant and Instructor for many engineering courses. As part of his research, he collaborated with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) to investigate and evaluate the performance of shear walls affected by Alkali-Silica Reaction (ASR) under seismic loading using material and structural testing methods as well as computer modelling. Farhad is also a technical reviewer of papers offered for publication in the American Concrete Institute (ACI) journals. Further, he is a member of the Engineers Without Borders, Golden Key International Honour Society, and Ontario Society of Professional Engineers.
