About Farnaz Towhidi

As a PhD holder in Information Security with a strong background in both academia and industry, I bring a unique blend of research, hands-on development, and teaching expertise. My academic work, including publications on graphical password authentication and cybersecurity, reflects my commitment to advancing the field. Professionally, I’ve contributed to major organizations such as IBM and Teranet, gaining practical experience in secure software development and quality assurance. Currently, I serve as an Instructor at QuickStart Bootcamp, where I teach an intensive Software Engineering program to aspiring developers. My role involves guiding students through core frontend and backend development concepts, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Node.js, Express, and database systems. I provide one-on-one mentoring, troubleshoot installation and coding issues, and help students build real-world projects that prepare them for industry roles. I also volunteer as a Course Instructor at the University of the People, supporting online learners in software engineering courses by facilitating discussions, grading, and providing detailed feedback. These teaching experiences reflect my passion for education and my ability to simplify complex technical concepts to help students succeed and stay engaged in their learning journey.
