About Farshad Bahrami

I studied drafting in architecture in high school (art school) between 2009 and 2011; then went to a technical university in Tehran to follow my degree. In 2013, I was accepted at Soore Uni for my bachelor's degree and graduated in 2015. In 2016, I was accepted at the University of Tehran in the field of Landscape Architecture-my master's thesis was about designing the Kan river, in Tehran, against flood and drought disturbances. Following that, I got accepted at the University of Melbourne as a Ph.D. student in 2022, focusing on daylighting, de-channelizing, and de-culverting Melbourne's creeks and chain of ponds-with the focus on Landscape Architecture, and the role of landscape architects in this process.I have published several peer-reviewed papers about resilience, rivers, urban landscape, and Persian gardens. I am really interested in working on streams against floods and drought in dry countries, like Australia and Iran, designing the streams and proposing new ideas for connecting local people to their waterways. Also, I am very keen to expand the idea of Persian gardens in today's Iran Landscape.
