About Faruk Cizmecioglu

After various positions in the automotive industry and international trade business, he joined Turkish Airlines in 2003 and worked as Senior Vice President Marketing and Sales for 6 years. He became Chief Marketing Officer in 2010 and coordinated Network Planning, Revenue Management, Corporate Communications, Corporate Agreements and Alternative Distribution Channels and the whole Marketing and Sales team spread out all over the world. He brought the company’s turnover from 1.2 billion USD to 10 billion USD within 10 years and shaped a sustainable organization to make Turkish Airlines a world known premium brand while bringing the number of destinations to more than 250 thus making Turkish Airlines fly to more countries than any other airline in the world. He initiated global sport organizations such as the Turkish Airlines Open Golf Cup, sponsorship activities like the Turkish Airlines Euroleague and international PR events with brand ambassadors Lionel Messi and Kobe Bryant. He played a key role during the transition of Turkish Airlines from a regional airline to a global network carrier which turned Istanbul into an important hub. He joined SunExpress in 2014 as Deputy Managing Director to represent Turkish Airlines in this Joint Venture with Lufthansa. He was chosen among the first 30 internationalist marketers in the world in 2013 by the Internationalist He was also a member of the supervisory board at Turkish Technic and a member of the board of directors at Turkbine gas turbines and SunExpress.
