About Fasil Negash

I am an experienced Education Programme Manager and Finance Professional with over 10 years of cross-sector experience spanning education, international development, finance, and insurance. I hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in leadership and management, equipping me with both the analytical foundation and strategic leadership skills needed to manage complex, impact-driven programmes. I currently lead the English and Schools Education portfolio at the British Council in Ethiopia, where I manage programmes focused on girls' education, school leadership, and English language teaching. My career began in accounting and finance, working with Awash Insurance Company and the British Council in roles that strengthened my capabilities in budgeting, payroll, audit preparation, procurement, and compliance. Over time, I transitioned into programme coordination and eventually into strategic leadership roles, combining my operational expertise with a passion for inclusive, impactful education. Notable achievements include: • Leading the English for Girls’ Education (EGE) project in Ethiopia — designing and delivering interventions across multiple regions in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Regional Education Bureaus, and FCDO. • Managing relationships with a wide network of stakeholders, from policymakers to school leaders, and aligning education initiatives with both national goals and global standards. • Contributing to results-based programming through strong monitoring and evaluation, data collection, and impact reporting. • Overseeing financial planning, procurement, and risk management across education projects. I bring a unique blend of programme management, financial integrity, and cross-cultural collaboration, with a strong focus on equity, gender mainstreaming, and sustainability in education systems. I’m now looking to expand my contributions globally — engaging in international opportunities, knowledge exchange, and thought leadership in education, development, and policy.
