About Faustin Muyembe

As a Counsel at the International Criminal Court (ICC), I am dedicated to advancing justice and accountability for the most serious crimes of international concern. As a member of both the Quebec Bar in Canada as a Foreign Legal Consultant (FLC), and the Mbandaka Bar in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, I am committed to integrity, discretion and competence including loyalty to the client. I have also contributed to the development and dissemination of international human rights law, especially the human right to water, through my academic and professional activities. I submit my PhD thesis by the end of 2024 in this field at the Université de Sherbrooke in Canada, and I have worked on a part time basis for a short term as a Research Assistant at the Université Laval. Additionally, I have been appointed as a Part Time Lecturer in OHADA Law, a unified system of business law in Africa, at the School of Magistracy of OHADA in Benin, and a former Part-Time Lecturer at the University of Portsmouth Law School, in the city of Portsmouth, in the United Kingdom. I have also acquired multiple skills in employment law, corporate law, and legal research, and I had a membership with the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA). I am fluent in English and French, and I have a passion for learning and sharing knowledge.
