About Favia Faruki

I have been working since 17 in humble beginnings at a family owned yogurt shop before I dreamed about what I wanted to become. As a child of immigrant parents, I've been dared to learn anything and everything to make sure that my future will give me the happiest version of myself. My college degrees (BA in Anthropology and AS in Surgical Technology) can attest to the dedication I have towards bettering myself. My hours I have put towards volunteer work and shadowing hours have totaled to over hours and as a young high school graduate, the connections I made through the work I've completed with the guidance of other professionals have taught me much about patient care and how to conduct myself in others' presence in a hospital setting. I've worked for about 6 years in the service industry picking up on the ins-and-outs of the restaurant business and achieved my Food Safety Manager certification in order to maintain Florida's standards of health and safety in the food industry. I've worked alongside as a server and cashier as well at Brendy's Yogurt & More in order to support myself through undergrad, giving me skills I would need in order to I've decided to take another route into healthcare by choosing to work as a CPhT at CVS, learning invaluable information about medication usage and dispenses while retaining HIPPA laws. From there I knew that healthcare was the pathway for me to take while I built up relationships with returning patients and pharmacists alike. My journey to Surgical Technology earned my second college degree as I trained for work in the OR during my clinical rotations, from there I've networked alongside surgeons, other surgical technologists, nurses, medical devices representatives, sterile processing, and anyone else involved with making my transition into the OR smoother at Boca Medical Hospital. By September of 2023 I've graduated with a near perfect GPA from Southeastern College with an AS in Surgical Technology. From my experiences as a student and as part of the OR team, I've discovered an immense joy in being in the OR which solidified my drive to become part of it one day. I currently work as a Patient Care Coordinator at Akumin Radiology, assisting patients with scheduling, billing, and working alongside doctors and lawyers offices to ensure every patient gets the best version of care they deserve while they receive treatment in our offices. My future goals in higher studies are currently leading me to pursue my MBA with a concentration in healthcare starting Spring 2026.
