About Faye M.

I am a passionate, aspiring psychologist, hoping to one day complete the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.Within forensic services I have had the opportunity to work with individuals who have complex mental health needs; psychosis, personality disorders, affective disorders and cognitive difficulties. Often these individuals’ ability to engage in mainstream therapeutic activity is compounded by their difficulties, therefore I appreciate the importance of working creatively and being adaptable in my approach. I value the importance of working collaboratively and holistically within multidisciplinary teams; not only does this greatly benefit service users, it has also enabled me to expand my skillset by learning from multiple professions, in turn strengthening my ability to form strong, therapeutic relationships with my clients and provide beneficial, person-centred care.For my MSc research project, I assisted with the development and delivery a 10-week mindfulness-based intervention, with a specific focus on the use of creative expression, to a group of mothers experiencing postnatal depression.
