Hi! As a senior back end DevOps engineer, I currently design and write Java APIs for Booking.com. Some of my favorite tools, libraries and middleware- Spring Boot with Jersey/Spring MVC, Actuator - Tomcat, Cassandra (that includes a Datastax certification)- Spring AOP/AspectJ, MapStruct, Lombok - Junit 4/5 with Mockito/PowerMock, REST-assured, Cucumber + Gherkin, Gatling - REST (HTTP) and SOAP, defining (and generating code with) OpenAPI specs CI/CD tools of choice include Git, Maven, Azure DevOps, TFS, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Jenkins, GitLab CI, the Atlassian stack (Confluence, Jira, Stash/BitBucket), the ELK stack (ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana), Graphite and Docker. I have years of cursory experience with SonarQube, Prisma, Nexus, Nolio, HP Fortify, IBM WebSphere, Wildfly, and countless other tools. Until mid-2021 I spent 5 years building front end apps (web components) using AngularJS, Polymer, lit-html, Protractor, Jasmine and SinonJS, among other tools. I hold a master's degree in computer science from University of Idaho. My thesis focused on expanding the Unicon programming language's built-in 3D OpenGL-based graphics facilities with a Direct3D-based rasterizer, built from scratch. On a personal note, I live in the Amsterdam area, I love running, reading and video games.
