About Fedro A Peccatori

I am a medical and gynecologic oncologist whose clinical activities mainly include diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, gynecological malignancies and tumors of young adults. I am Director of the Fertility and Procreation Unit within the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the European Institute of Oncology, Milan, Italy. My main research projects deal with fertility preservation and counselling in young oncological patients, pharmacological protection of ovarian function during chemotherapy, clinical and molecular characterization of pregnancy associated cancers and research protocols for the treatment of breast and gynaecological malignancies. In the past, my research interests dealt with hematological malignancies, and I have been involved in the study of malignant lymphomas and autologous and allogeneic peripheral blood stem cell transplantation in solid tumors and leukemias. I have high consideration of interdisciplinary teaching and learning and I have been collaborating with many European Cancer Organization (E.C.O.) Member Societies, with a special focus on EONS, ESGO, SIOP-e, SIOG. I am a lecturer in a number of international meetings, and holds a teaching contract with the University of Milan. I am author and co-author of 296 publications or letters on peer reviewed journals, including New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet Oncology, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Nature Reviews Clinical Oncology, Annals of Oncology, Breast Cancer Treatment Reviews, The Breast. I have been editor of the books “Cancer and Pregnancy” (Springer 2007), “Fertilità e Oncologia” (Medicalink 2009), “Breast Cancer, Fertility Preservation and Reproduction” (Springer 2015),“Senologia-Diagnosi, terapia e gestione” (2018), “Textbook of Cancer in Pregnancy” (ESGO INCIP 2018), “Fertility Challenges and solutions in women with cancer” (Springer 2020) From 2016 to September 2024, I acted as Scientific Director at the European School of Oncology (ESO) where I contributed to shape the ESO of the new millenium, implementing a number of educational activities, including the masterclasses of clinical oncology, the clinical training centers program, the certificates of competence with the Universities of Ulm, Fribourg and Università della Svizzera Italiana (Lymphomas, Breast, Thoracic malignancies, Gynecological Cancers, Gastrointestinal cancers, Prostate cancer), the masterclass of pediatric oncology and the e-learning offer of e-ESO.
