About Felecia Townsend

I have worked in the business and education sectors for over 35 years. The first half of my career of which I was responsible for dining, bookstore, vending, quick copy and retail printing operations, inventory, budget and payroll, banking, other retail as well as day to day operations. I also served as an adjunct professor teaching the Freshman Experience classes. Currently as Director Of Business Services at Florida International University, I oversee residential and retail dining on all of the FIU campuses where we have over 30 dining locations. Also under my responsibility is catering, Athletics concessions and suites, facility rentals, inventory, auxiliary custodial services, and various other related activities. I am very active on campus serving on many committees and volunteering to mentor students. To name a few engaging activities: Holiday Celebration for Children, MLK Breakfast, MLK Youth Peace Forum, MLK Parade, Juneteenth, Athletics Accreditation, Sigma Alpha Iota/Lambda Omicron, Souled Out, various construction project committees and procurement solicitations. Outside of my career duties, I serve as Advisor for Top Teens of America, Southern Pearls Miami-Dade Chapter, member of Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc, and member of Continental Societies, Greater Miami Chapter. I love to volunteer and serve my community, and always look for opportunities to volunteer through local charities, churches and non-profit organizations to impact the youth and senior citizens. I enjoy family and adore my husband and my beautiful children and grandchildren.
