About Felice Brandy

I am a non-traditional Culturally Responsive Educator. I have high expectations for my students with a realistic understanding of their backgrounds and a purposeful plan for fighting inequity on their behalf. I have grit, personality, optimism, and a big heart. I am currently hired at Buffalo Public Schools as an Urban Educator where I teach young HS students how to become Urban educators. I have taught ELA 9-12 and hold an ELA degree and certificate as well as a CTE certificate. I have a strong interest in ending educational inequity and I believe it is my calling to develop the minds of youth especially at risk inner-city youth. I am looking for an opportunity to make a positive difference in their lives. I believe in Leadership Teaching and Culturally Responsive Teaching. These philosophies of education means I am charged with the responsibility to continually search for the best ways to teach my students and truly impart success. Recently I have adopted Emdin's Reality Pedagogy. I understand it takes a unique individual to obtain the attention and respect of today’s youth. As an Educator I have the awesome responsibility of creating research based lessons to enhance literacy levels while also implementing various methods of intervention to create student success.
