About Felipe Alaniz

Writing my summary isn't one of my strong points but I'll try my best. My passion lies with technology as a whole. Working in and on computers in high school really sealed the deal for me with what I wanted to do in the future. As soon as I took apart/built PCs I knew that's what I wanted to do. Programming is something I had a vague idea about but never really understood the concept until my high school teacher entered us in a robotics after school project. This is where everything made sense to me. How its possible to create solutions to problems you didn't know could be solved by just writing a bit of code. I was eager to learn more about this! That was my beginning. From here I knew I wanted to pursue this idea of using code to solve problems and automate components. I went to my hometown's university to get my computer science degree and honestly I struggled at writing code initially. But I knew this was only going to get better from here on out. After those four years, I found myself excited to start working and use my knowledge to solve problems. At this point in time, I don't think there's a better job than being a DevOps engineer. I get to work on the infrastructure, networking, deployment, automation, and writing code to solve all of these hurdles. I think my favorite tool to work on is Kubernetes as I find it so fascinating. Other than that I do enjoy my life outside of work- Fishing (Salt water)- Cooking (recently got herbs and planning to expand my tiny garden with peppers)- Eating (Since I love to eat, I learned to make really great tasting food)- Sports (Going to generalize here but I really do like the major sports. Baseball/Volleyball are my current favorites and I enjoy playing them)- Family/Friends (Love hanging out with them. Always a good time)- Traveling and exploring new places - Console gaming
