About Felipe Estre

I am an academic and researcher specializing in International Relations, with a comprehensive academic background including a Joint PhD from the University of São Paulo (USP) and King’s College London (KCL), a Master’s degree from PUC-Rio, and a Bachelor's degree from USP. Teaching Experience: My teaching career began in 2010 as a Teaching Assistant at PUC-Rio. I have since taught at several institutions, including the Institute for Development and Government Studies (IDEG), where I have been a Professor of International Politics and Brazilian Foreign Policy since 2014. At IDEG, I prepare candidates for the Brazilian Diplomatic Academy. At King’s College London, I served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, contributing to undergraduate modules on "Development Studies" and "Theory of International Relations." Currently, I lecture at Uberlandia Federal University on International Relations and Brazilian Foreign Policy. I have also taught at Centro Universitário IESB, where my courses included Latin American Political and Social History, Economic Formation of Brazil, and New Powers in the Contemporary International Order. Research and Consultancy: My research experience includes significant contributions to various projects with the Latin American Security and Defence Network (RESDAL). Notable projects include: Women in Peace Operations (PSOP 22-077) Comparative Atlas of Defence and Security – 2024 Barriers to Women’s Participation in Armed Forces in Mexico (Elsie Initiative Fund) COVID-19 Crisis Response Colombian Peace Process (Global Affairs Canada) These projects highlight my ability to manage interdisciplinary research initiatives addressing key issues in international security. My research focuses on Brazilian diplomacy, international security, and the impacts of new right-wing nationalism on foreign policy.
