About Felipe Francato

When you were a kid did you ever… - Organize toys by color, size, and style- Invest your allowance- Time how fast you could complete chores- Call your teammates the night before the game to get everyone psyched up- Fight with your sibling to watch news over cartoons? I did. But it wasn’t until I had to choose my major that the intensity and the variety of my interests became a challenge. I stood right in the middle of two very different paths: engineering and business. • My love for math, science, and geometry pointed me to engineering. • My love for economics and finance and my interest in leadership pointed me to business. A tough decision. Eventually, I came up with a two-part plan. First, I would earn an undergraduate engineering degree. Then I would follow it up with a master’s degree in business. Engineering has given me tools for problem solving, analytics, and statistics. I didn’t stop there, however. I added a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt specializing in optimization, process improvement, and data analysis. I’m on the second part of my plan now - my MBA program at University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign focusing on Business Analytics and Financial Management. My plan is working. This engineering/business combo is an ideal foundation regardless of the career path I take. Each new class becomes my favorite. Each new skillset offers the opportunity to see myself in a new industry or a new My free time? • I am passionate about anything “food” and I have done workshops in different cuisines (Argentinian?
