About Felipe Grez

I’m a Chilean lawyer specialized in renewable energy and infrastructure, currently serving as Head of Legal for South America at FRV (Fotowatio Renewable Ventures). I lead all legal matters across Chile, Brazil, and Uruguay, supporting the full lifecycle of large-scale energy projects—from acquisitions and development to financing, construction, operation, and divestment. Over the past decade, I’ve built a track record advising and executing complex transactions in the energy sector, including M&A, joint ventures, and project finance. At FRV, I have been responsible for multiple regional acquisitions and exits, and I led the company’s largest project finance globally to date (Tarapacá PV + BESS, closed in August 2025). I also act as Head of Compliance for South America, ensuring robust governance, risk management, and ethical standards across all operations. Before joining FRV, I worked in top-tier law firms and as in-house counsel on major energy and water infrastructure projects, including a BOOT desalination plant transaction and EPC/O&M negotiations. I combine strong regulatory and environmental expertise with a commercial mindset, helping stakeholders close deals and deliver projects in fast-moving, highly regulated markets.
