Background

About Felix Harris

I am an up and coming professional looking to add my skills to a worthy project. I worked for two years in STEM higher education while putting myself through school to get my B.S, often putting in seven day weeks all the while maintaining a 3.9 GPA because it was what needed to be done. I maintained my status on the Dean's List every semester and was awarded two merit based scholarships.I was one of the first student researchers employed by the NCSU STEM B.U.I.L.D. group, and I have had a hand in developing most of the teaching tools they have available currently. I am a co-author on one paper currently in review for publication through this group, and am soon aiming to submit my first paper through this group. I learned to work with diverse groups of people and teach myself new technologies, and I would never trade the incredible experiences I had there for the world.I am also an accomplished public speaker, in both scientific worlds and beyond. I have presented research at multiple different conferences throughout both North Carolina and South Carolina, and have been featured twice as a personal speaker: once in NCSU's "Tufftalks" event where I discussed how popular culture transcends generations and can provide healing powers to reconnect us to lost loved ones, and again at the Department of Biological Sciences winter 2019 commencement event.They/Them
