Background
About Fenna Swart
The least I can do is speak for those who cannot speak for themselves’ This quote from Jane Goodall is taken from the heart. I am convinced that we can do much more than we think if we see ourselves as part of the whole. From a varied career in science (PhD), education (manager, teacher and researcher), nature (director) and visual arts (artist), I gained the insight that I want to use my expertise for justice issues around climate, energy, animal welfare and environmental protection. I do this by, among other things, leading and coordinating groundbreaking campaigns in collaboration with NGOs, governments, grassroots, educational and scientific organizations. I use my international network within the field of NGOs, politics and media (strategy development) in combination with my experience as a spokesperson and publicist (influencing public and politics), to bring about change in favor of a strong environmental and climate movement. I am currently the director of the NGO Clean Air Committee NL (Comite Schone Lucht). I have a PhD in Language and Educational Sciences (Professional Development of Teachers) and two Masters degrees in Art and Education. In addition to my teaching and research activities, I have a long history of making art. As a lecturer and researcher, I worked at various universities in the Netherlands (Leiden, Utrecht and Amsterdam). The Clean Air Committee ( ) is a foundation with the aim of protecting nature and the environment including climate, biodiversity and public health. The derived aim is in accordance with the Treaty on European Union, Article 3, paragraph 3 to promote a high level of protection and improvement of the quality of the environment and nature, by taking measures to address local, regional or global environmental, nature and climate problems, and promoting information, participation in decision-making and access to justice in matters of nature and animal rights.
