Background
About Ferdinand Eimler
As a student of the Atlantis Dual Degree Program, Ferdinand is currently enrolled in the Master of Public Policy (MPP) at the Hertie School in Berlin. Last year, he completed the Master of International Affairs (MAIR) at Maxwell School, Syracuse University. In 2023, Ferdinand graduated with a B.A. degree in Politics and Public Administration from the University of Konstanz. During his B.A. studies, he worked as an intern and freelancer at the Global Diplomacy Lab at the Federal Foreign Office. When co-organizing the workshop “Water Diplomacy 4.0: Process matters” in Berlin, Germany and Ljubljana, Slovenia, Ferdinand gained experience in member and event management and the implementation of “Diplomacy 4.0”. When attending the Bled Strategic Forum 2022 and assisting the PREVIEW Conference in the FFO, he gained valuable experience on the organization and mechanisms of international conferences on foreign policy. In the summer of 2023, he coordinated the project "Impact of Misinformation and Disinformation in the Global South (Emerging Technologies such as AI)" in Nairobi, Kenya. As a board member of the FFO intern programme, Ferdinand regularly organized site visits of FFO interns to political institutions in Berlin and has taken part in networking events at several embassies. For long, he has been practicing intercultural exchange by surfing the couches of strangers all around the globe. Ferdinand’s passion for intercultural exchange developed during a High School Year in Texas under the CBYX program. After his high school graduation, Ferdinand decided to travel the world, a journey that took him from Berlin to Singapore, only by bus and train. While travelling on the Trans-Siberian Railway, he fell in love with the Russian as well as Chinese culture and soon developed a keen interest in the politics and history of both countries. Several seminars about the Chinese political system at the University of Zurich and an exchange semester at RSUH Moscow deepened that interest further, leading to an academic path primarily focused on the foreign policy of the two states. Therefore, Ferdinand aspires for a professional career in an intercultural setting, preferably connected to the foreign policy of China and Russia.
