About Fernanda Guedes

Fernanda is an expert in energy planning, energy transitions, and ESG, with over ten years of experience in the energy and climate sector. She holds a Ph.D. in Energy Planning from COPPE/UFRJ and a master's degree in the same field, dedicating her career to analyzing energy markets, researching low-carbon transitions, and developing sustainable strategies. Currently serving as New Technologies Specialist at ABEEÓLICA, she manages the carbon market area. Her role involves coordinating working groups, collaborating with government stakeholders, and conducting strategic studies. Previously, Fernanda led the Brazil Energy Programme at Adam Smith International, where she oversaw the development and implementation of cost-benefit analyses and energy transition initiatives. Her tenure at IFP Energies Nouvelles further strengthened her expertise in prospective modeling and strategic analyses on the role of hydrogen in decarbonizing the European economy. She also worked at Cenergia Lab, where she contributed to energy modeling projects and studies on greenhouse gas mitigation strategies. Her responsibilities included building energy planning models, supporting policy development, and conducting research on the integration of renewable energy sources.
