About Fernando Alvarez

Fernando is a licensed architect and Certified Passive House Designer, with over 20 years of experience in high-rise buildings, including luxury residential rental, condominiums, offices, supportive, shelter, senior and affordable housing. He’s a proven leader in a broad range of construction types who provides clients with reliable construction documents and effective contract administration both in a timely manner and with excellent technical expertise. Fernando’s recent project experience includes the passive house Highbridge supportive and shelter building in the Bronx, Casa Celina senior housing and passive house certified The Rise in the Brownsville neighborhood of Brooklyn. At MAP, Fernando has updated and developed the office Documentation Standards and serves as a mentor to the technical staff. Previous experience includes a 50-story rental building at Hudson Yards, a 30-story luxury condominium development in Soho, a SF life science / class A office building in Harlem and a 974-unit rental tower in Court Square and a 27 Story luxury rental in New Rochelle and he has been part of teams leading to the construction of over 25 ground up buildings in the metropolitan area, a full gut rehab office to residential conversion and a small children’s museum. Fernando is part of award winning teams and has created a roster of clients and consultants that support his mission.
