About Fernando Climent Barba

I'm a Bioprocess Scientist at Celignis Limited with a background in the use of cellulases for biomass conversion and laundry applications. Recently, I worked as Research Fellow within the School of Design at the University of Leeds (UK), investigating the effect of enzyme treatments on textiles in collaboration with Unilever and Arzeda. Other previous research fellowships pivot around the enzymatic hydrolysis of Indian urban waste, including tasks as creation of a surrogate material, microwave pretreatment and optimisation of bespoke LPMOs (Newton Bhabha Industrial Waste: Bio-integrated Valorisation of India's Municipal Solid Waste to Renewable Feedstocks). At the same university, he completed a PhD in Bioenergy, conceptualising a high-solids continuous enzymatic hydrolysis of a municipal solid waste pulp slurry (Fiberight Limited). Overall, a multi-disciplinary Environmental Engineer with experience on: reactor design, monitoring, control and techno-economic modelling.
