I have been with the Best Buy distribution center, located in Dinuba, California, for the past 14 years. I have been promoted three times (3), and I currently hold the title of Safety Area Manager, Asset Protection Area Manager, and Maintenance Area Manager. Throughout my many years of employment with The Best Buy distribution center, I have been fortunate enough to grow within my positions and develop the skills and knowledge to achieve positive results for the different departments that I managed. My various titles of employment carry an innumerable amount of responsibility. As a Safety Area Manager, my responsibilities include tracking safety incidents, tracking OSHA recordables, conducting fire drills, active shooter drills, safety walks through the building, conducting safety committee meetings, and training employees on powered equipment, including much more day-to-day tasks. As an Asset Protection Area Manager, I ensure that policy and procedures are being implemented correctly and follow up with the area managers when an issue arises, so that the company can potentially avoid the same issue in the future. As a Maintenance Area Manager, my objective is to guide, train and mentor the employees for success. I work closely with the MECH 3 mechanics and teach them how to prepare work schedules, successful training programs, hazmat pickups, E-Waste pickups, daily preventative (PM's) schedules, and cross-training programs.
