About Fernando Garay

Fernando Garay is a Houston-based public relations and communications professional with global experience and a proven track record in the oil and gas industry in such areas as corporate, crisis, and marketing communications; media relations; government affairs; technical, speech, and proposal writing; project management; and other key areas. Fernando has worked for a number of prestigious organizations, including CITGO Petroleum Corporation, in Houston and Tulsa, Okla; the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in Vienna, Austria; and the Reuters News Agency, in Caracas, Venezuela. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and German and holds a master’s in international relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, in Massachusetts, which he attended under the renowned Fulbright Scholarship Program. He also holds a bachelor’s in communications from Universidad Central de Venezuela, in Caracas. Additionally, Fernando is a Texas-certified public school teacher and currently divides his time between communications consulting and foreign language teaching at the high school level. This combines his lifelong passion for communications and its power to reshape industries and societies, on the one hand; and sharing his love for learning about foreign cultures and languages, as a means to enhance our own global vision, on the other. He is married and has two adult sons.
