About Fernando Pagels
I am a biologist, graduated in 2015 at University of Porto (Portugal), doing part of my graduation at University of Brasília (Brasil) and also at University College Cork (Ireland). In 2017, I obtained the degree of Master in Functional Biology and Biotechnology of Plants, also at University of Porto. I am, currently, a PhD Candidate in Marine Biotechnology and Aquaculture at University of Porto, doing also short- term missions in University of Malaga (Spain). The main focus of my research has been the optimization of the cyanobacteria-based bioprocess, mainly in what concern to pigments production and application. Although I have always been focused on academic research, I believe that a balance between fundamental and applied research is extremely necessary. I have great interest in business management and in quality and product improvements, and I hope in the coming times to specialize in management and bioprocess control.
