About Fernando Pinto

I am a young professional with extensive experience within the Humanitarian sector. ​ ​Previously I gained experience with different international organizations and collaborated with different UNHCR operations (Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Kenya, Uganda and Turkey) as an affiliated workforce member. I have more than 5-year experience with protection, resettlement and registration activities across a diverse geographical area. ​ ​Currently I am working as an Associate Resettlement Complementary Pathways Officer in Guatemala and have taken responsibilities as the Officer in Charge of the Esquipulas Field Unit (Emergency) in this operation. ​ ​I consider myself a hard-working, energetic, friendly, talkative, and understanding person and feel motivated to learn new languages, explore new cultures, show my culture to others, and help vulnerable people. I enjoy working for UNHCR and learn about the work impact in the field. I really feel motivated to help people in an international environment and learn from other people’s experiences. I can also say that I am an approachable and diplomatic person and that I work effectively in diverse and cross-cultural teams.
