A passionate multilingual school administrator and music educator with an instrumental background of the highest level. Extensive experience in the Primary sector and a deep understanding of the PYP as a Curriculum framework” My educational philosophy can be explained in two words: Inspire and Empower. Life-long learners thrive on the opportunities to be inspired by new ideas, to discover alternative ways of doing things or to explore innovative approaches. However, this inspiration would be incomplete without the opportunity to acquire and develop the skills that will facilitate the practical implementation of those ideas. I am an experienced educator and have worked within the IB curriculum for the last eleven years. During this time, I have developed a solid teaching practice that provides my students with a good balance of subject-specific skills development and the acquisition of transferable skills and conceptual understanding through guided inquiry and discovery. I take pride in having developed a systematic approach to planning, from long term vertical alignment of learning outcomes to detailed lesson plans that address important strategies like differentiation, formative assessment and the explicit teaching and learning of ATL skills. To assist me with the task of supporting every child I teach, I have used a variety of digital tools: my own website e-portfolios like Seesaw, virtual classrooms (Google, OneNote) or video recording platforms like Flipgrid have allowed me to extend learning beyond the classroom, document and assess progress effectively and allow my students to reflect and self-regulate their own learning. In my current role as curriculum (PYP) coordinator, I lead a group of over 30 teachers and assistants, ensuring that our curriculum is built upon the principles of transdisciplinarity and collaboration, as we aim to design and implement a holistic model of education. This model intends to inspire and empower our students through concept-based, inquiry-driven teaching and learning practices that transcend subject knowledge and equip our students with transferable skills that will allow them to become self-regulated, life-long learners
