About Fernando Rodriguez

Fernando Rodriguez currently serves as the director of laboratories at GENES fertility institute in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In his previous role, he acted as the director of the assisted reproductive technology laboratories of Chapel Hill Fertility Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. In addition to being published several times over the last 35 years, Fernando has multiple postgraduate lectures and appointments to his credit as Professor and Director of the Physiology Department of the San Juan Bautista School of Medicine (SJBSM), in Puerto Rico, as well as Chairman of the IRB of this institution, and coordinating research activities for students and faculty. His educational background includes a B.S, a M.S, and a Ph.D. in Animal Science, all graduate degrees majoring in reproductive physiology. He also undertook four years of post-doctoral training with the Agricultural Research Service (ARS), a division of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA-ARS). Professional background spans over 30 years' experience in short- and long-term consulting assignments in educational and private projects in USA, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Barbados (USDA-AID), and Puerto Rico. Responsibilities included the management assessment and advanced procedural training of laboratory personnel, technical support, as well as implementation of Andrology and Embryology laboratory protocols and testing procedures.
