About Ferre Vervoort

After years of studying, completing internships at BASF and Colruyt Group, and gaining hands-on experience through various student jobs, I graduated as an Industrial Engineer. Today, I’m proud to be working at DEME Group as a Technical Superintendent in the Intervention / Docking team. My role has taken me across the globe, managing complex repairs, upgrades, and lifecycle extensions on various vessel types — from Heavy lift Jack-up vessels to hopper dredgers and stone dumpers. Over the past few years, I’ve developed and applied a wide range of technical and project management skills, including: Major repair coordination (5-yearly, 10-yearly. and lifetime extension projects) Crane retrofitting & commissioning (including 120T hoist installations) 🧰 Mechanical & structural troubleshooting on offshore, dredging, and stone dumper equipment Class and flag compliance in collaboration with surveyors Root cause analysis and corrective action planning Planning, reporting & follow-up with internal departments and contractors as well keeping the budget controlled International yard experience across Europe and Asia (Singapore, Klaipeda, Vlissingen, etc.) I’ve always been passionate about technology and engineering. Whether it's electronics, ships, cars, smartphones, computers, robots, or renewable energy, I'm driven by curiosity and a desire to understand how things work — and how to make them better.
