Hello, I am Ffion Evans and I am currently studying in my final years at Edith Cowan University (ECU). I am completing a Bachelor in Psychology, Criminology, and Justice. I am looking for a job that enhances these skills and uses all aspects of psychology (psych), criminology (crim) and justice such as a Probation Officer. I am open to job experience or internships, to gain further understanding of the field I will be working in. I chose to study psychology, criminology and justice because I am very interested in the psychological side of criminal activity and the way the criminal justice system works. My five core values are respect, love, uniqueness, helpfulness and wisdom. These values are very important to me as that is what makes up my personality. I believe these five values would be extremely beneficial in the job role as a probation officer. I have a very bubbly personality which opens communication opportunities up. I am always striving for my personal best which means I am also very goal-oriented. I am resilient because I set goals for myself and continue to reach them even though they may not seem achievable at the time. I would say I am a hard-working individual, I always try and help people any way I can even though it may impact my time. Lastly, I am assertive in situations in which composition needs to be regained. My highest academic achievement is graduation from tertiary education (year 12). Whilst in school I achieved the English award which helped me throughout the university to use the knowledge to comprehend, write and read literature. I have an approved managers card, which shows I can be an authoritative person and operate in a potentially stressful position. My greatest achievement thus far would be continuing studying even when times were tough through the pandemic. It was very challenging but it proved I am resilient and hard working. University has taught me so much such as your basic skills of time management, active listening, being organised, etc. Although, for me, the most important skill I have used throughout my degree so far is the ability to reference theorists and apply their ideas to psychological assessments. My area of interest would more specifically by working in prisons and helping young people with their reintegration back into the community. I also have a specific interest in understanding mental health and how it contributes to offending behaviours, this would best be used when young people are released from juvenile detention centres to help them reduce the chances of any future offending behaviours.
