About Filipe Chichorro

I deal with LCA data at Earthster: curating/updating source databases (such as Ecoinvent, USEEIO, PEF), LCA impact methods and categories (IPCC, EF3.1, TRACI2.1), documentation. I consider myself as having a versatile technical skillset and a creative problem solver who thrives in cross-functional collaborations. I am passionate about the conservation of biodiversity at a global scale. Before becoming interested in #LCA, I worked as a research scientist in biology and ecology. Particularly, I have experience in soil biodiversity, macroecology, and wildlife conservation. I have collaborated both within small teams and within with large international consortiums. I strive to keep learning new skillsets, particularly in statistics, data science and programming, in order to achieve greater impact on the conservation of biodiversity. What you can expect of me:• Ability to design and conduct experiments autonomously with expertise in developing computer simulations of ecological systems and/or analysing ecological and scientific literature data, as evidenced by 5 scientific papers as first author.• Ability to work across diverse collaborative team-oriented environments with expertise in conducting ecological experiments and/or data analysis and/or entomology, resulting in 14 scientific papers as collaborator alongside 152 people researching in 24 different countries.• Motivated self-learner with the capacity to quickly develop proficiency in several programming languages, as evidenced by thousands of lines of code across R, Netlogo, Python, and C++.Music is another big passion of mine. I come from a classical music background and have played in dozens (maybe hundreds?) of concerts and gigs in orchestras, string quartets (probably my favourite ensemble), trios, duos and as a solo artist, mainly playing the viola but also the violin, guitar, voice and I'm trying to learn the keyboards. I am looking forward to drop a jam session with you!Let's connect!
