Background
About Filippo Fontani
I graduated in Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Florence. Immediately after graduation, I dedicated myself to a volunteer internship in a laboratory of the Biochemistry Department at the University of Florence. During this period, about seven months, I had the opportunity to test my adaptation skills by learning, in a short time, new techniques that I didn’t have the possibility to learn during the thesis placement. I also faced up to a situation of almost tota autonomy in daily work. After a subsequent four month experience with a fixed-term contract, I entered in the PhD School of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Florence studies, which I concluded in March 2016. During my doctoral years, besides consolidating and expanding my laboratory's technical knowledge, I had the opportunity to attend and train students, new scholars or doctoral students. I am currently part of a group that is dealing with the creation of a research laboratory for the Oncoematology Department of the Meyer Paediatric Hospital.
