I love people! Whether it’s collaborating to see a project to completion or sharing feedback for professional and personal development, people make the journey worth it! This love started when, as a 12 year old, I helped my immigrant parents attend annual meetings with my sister’s school to build her specialized curriculum. She has Downs and the idea of Inclusion was very foreign to my parents, having been born and raised in Italy in the 40’s. Not only did I attend and translate, I became actively involved in the decisions made for her education. I learned so much in those meetings and I now see how it shaped my "can do" attitude and my love for inclusive learning. As a high school student, I started volunteering in Special Olympics which I am still a part of today! My sister is my inspiration and has shaped so much of who I am. The desire to see her live a full and complete life has taught me to push myself to continuous improvement in every area of my life. If I believe in my sister - and I do - I realize I have to believe in everyone! I worked in Education, in Intervention with High Risk students at the middle school and high school level for 8 years with kids who were facing major life issues such as addiction, homelessness, and pregnancy. It was my job to get them through those obstacles to graduate. I then managed production in a small local business, coordinating production and installation dates. After 2 short years, that company started having cashflow issues and is now defunct. I wondered if I would find employment doing what I loved in an inclusive environment like the one I helped to forge for my sister all those years ago. That is when I accepted a role at the largest, most stable, and most inclusive company in the world! A company where I could combine my love for people, continuous growth, development of others, and a culture of inclusion into a career I love! Whether managing projects or people, I have not been disappointed!
