About Fin Major

I recently completed an undergraduate degree in Journalism at the University of Sheffield, where I gained invaluable practical experience in the media industry. My projects included creating a magazine brand, working as a television and radio presenter, and interviewing sports people at the highest level. More importantly, my degree taught me about people. As a journalist, connecting with individuals from all walks of life and uncovering the stories around us is crucial. I have developed the ability to work effectively with diverse groups, using various techniques to produce the best results. In addition to my degree, I work as a sports and activities coach for children aged 18 months to 11 years. This role has instilled a sense of responsibility and strengthened my leadership skills. I collaborate with children, parents, and assistant coaches to tailor sessions that maximize engagement and enjoyment. This September, I will begin a postgraduate MSc in Management at the University of Sheffield. I aim to acquire a new set of skills in finance and operations while continuing to learn about the management of people. I am also pursuing a Copywriting qualification with the College of Media and Publishing, enhancing my skills in sales and marketing. Outside of work and studies, I enjoy staying active through cycling, running, and climbing. I have a passion for literature and regularly read non-fiction books on psychology, economics, and the environment to broaden my knowledge.
