About Findlay A Nicol
I have been teaching since the "60s. First I taught Latin and Greek (Uddingston Grammar School, Alloa Academy and 30+ years in Portree High School where I developed a very successful Classics Department. In 1987 I was offered early retirement, did a CELTA course and went to China. I taught in Shandong University of Finance and Economics for 18 years, covering everything from 1st year oral English to MBA and Ph D students W. Then for family reasons I taught Classics again in London for 2 years. Then I came to Potenza which I loved and stayed until Brexit intervened teaching anybody that I thought would be an interesting student. I am now back in Scotland seeking new opportunities to improve my mind and challenge myself. Although I will be 77 on my birthday (17th July) I do not in any way feel "old" and am interested in many many fields.
