About Finlay Trenery

I Started working for Mercedes’ Benz of Newbury main dealer when I was 16. I went to Mercedes’ Benz collage and had finished as a maintenance technician after 3 years. Many basic skills have been learnt including timing keeping and managing. This had also gave me competent use of basic mechanical skills with light motor vehicles and received IMI level 3 mechanical technician qualification. Now I have achieved Systems technician with multiple extra qualifications including HV disconnect, HV systems and components, diagnostic testing. During this time I have had the opportunity to work on other brands through avocado used car sales. I also have 3 years experience carrying out windscreen chip repairs and windscreen assessments. Additionally I have successfully completed fire and first aid training. Outside work I share a garage where I practice my automotive engineering creating fast road/ performance classic cars using TIG and MIG welding, metal work, modifications to all aspects of a vehicle and a good knowledge of basic tuning. self taught through passion for motorsport and mechanics. I am working to improve my skills daily and learn new advancements in motor industry whilst also maintaining a passion for old and classic vehicles.
