About Finn Scully

I grew up in Boston, Massachusetts. I have over 10 years of experience in Photography and Cinematography, that I have been developing both inside and outside the classroom. Over those years I have learned invaluable knowledge in creating media and content. The variety of the work that I have done from comedy sketches, to short documentaries, to a company's social media posts and short films have shown me the importance of having a good understanding of as many aspect of content creation as I can. Currently, I work for Columbia College Chicago's Advanced Camera Rental Facility as a Student Worker, where I help upcoming film students learn the basics of film cameras and their many different accessories. I help these students understand how to best use the cameras to tell the stories they want to show the world. Working with these students as also helped reinforce my own understanding of camera systems and help me figure out the stylistic choices I may want to make with them on my own films. I aspire to create new connections with employers in the film industry who have the desire to grow and who want to push the boundaries of what film can do. My skillsets include Technological Expertise, Decisive and Problem-Solving Leadership, Social Awareness, Communication, and Flexible Creativity. I have worked on several short films such as "Gemini","Alone", and "The Bone", where I have been the DP with talented crews to help my vision come to life. Going forward I want to continue to work on more student films, but I would really like to start to work on bigger tv and film productions, where I can learn more about what it takes to make a bigger budget project.
