About Fiona Boylan

I am a senior lecturer and researcher in Early Childhood Education at Edith Cowan University in Perth, Western Australia renowned for my pioneering work within the domain of growth mindset in early childhood education. My research has garnered widespread recognition and been instrumental in shaping Australian early years policy and practice including the updated Early Years Learning Framework and My Time Our Place policu documents. My work has significantly contributed to the integration of mindset theory into early childhood education, emphasising the importance of fostering a positive and adaptable mindset from an early age. My innovative research delineates design principles to assist early childhood educators in cultivating children’s growth mindset during the early years which is outlined in my recently published book “Fostering children’s growth mindset in the early years”. I have presented and published my research nationally and internationally as I seek to support educators to foster a growth mindset culture in early learning centres, classrooms and schools.
