About Fiona Jacobs

After being the personal executive assistant to the Director of an Import and Export Company for several years, I joined a new start up Company Energy Metals (Pty) Ltd in 1993, importing and supplying stainless steel products for many industries e.g. Petrochem, Paper & Pulp, Water, Chemical industries to name a few. As we were a small trading company, we managed everything ourselves - from sourcing products globally, purchasing, importing either air or sea, clearing, costing, stocking, finances, bookkeeping, foreign currency contracts. We attended all possible Stainless steel training and worked closely with a resident Metallurgist within our team to ensure 100% compliance with requirements and understanding the products and the customers. we gained our ISO9001 certification as well during this time and of course ensured that we are certified. During this time, we were also successful with Export Projects into Africa and gained invaluable knowledge of supplying in Africa successfully. After several very successful years supplying customers and then projects in South Africa and Africa, the Company grew and we started to employ a sales, operations, logistics and finance teams. After 10 years with the Company and having been a founding member and instrumental in the phenomenal growth I was offered shares and a Directorship. After nearly 30 years in the life of first Energy Metals, which then became Energy Engineered Products and eventually a name change and re-branding to EMV Africa, now with a complement of over 70 personnel, I am starting 2021 with a new portfolio ( again ) this time working only on the International Trade, Procurement and Business Development. Having a background of all the different facets of the Company and I am very experienced in sourcing products, assessing suppliers,enabling the logistics and adding value with the introduction of our products and teams to New Business. As a director, I scrupulously promote the values of Honesty, Quality, and creating value for our clients.
