About Fiona Max

Whenever I return to the Oregon mountains where I grew up, I’m reminded of why I’ve committed myself to protecting the natural landscapes that shaped me. Through my role at Protect Our Winters, I’ve worked to unite diverse communities around sustainable solutions through strategic storytelling and collaboration. At Princeton, I explored the underreported perspectives of women in rural Oregon on topics such as climate change and economic development. My senior thesis brought me to Oslo, Norway to research how municipal sustainability demand-side projects impact public opinion about supply-side politics-Oil and gas. Professionally, I’ve written feature stories for Statehood Media's Oregon and Washington Magazines and led social media campaigns that significantly expanded the company's reach. As a coordinator intern and ambassador for Protect Our Winters, I’ve prepared policy briefs, lobbied for climate legislation, and led advocacy efforts. Now, I’m pursuing a Master’s in Environmental and Sustainability Management at Georgetown University while competing for Georgetown Women's Track and Cross Country team.
