About Fiona Miller

With almost two decades of experience in business including leadership, I am skilled across each function including strategy, operations, finance and people, with a specialism in marketing. Wider key interests include social mobility, EDI, sustainability and organisational culture. As a marketing professional, I have designed and delivered marketing strategy for multiple organisations from both an in-house and consultancy perspective to align with wider business objectives for an integrated approach. I have also trained over 500 SME’s in marketing strategy up to CPD accredited level, alongside guest lecturing in the field of marketing for a university business programme. Well-versed in key stakeholder management across government, local authority and large organisations, I also have significant consulting experience with blue chip companies, SME’s, public sector, CIC’s and charities. Having led businesses, I have 360 degree experience. I also work at policy-level with the delivery of a policy forum. I have a high level of business acumen and strong leadership skills including people management, strategic planning, budgets and forecasting, and project management. I’m a values-driven leader, with a clear vision and a zeal for positive change, opportunity creation and big-picture thinking. As a Non-Executive Director, I am proud to give back to the City by supporting with strategic direction and impact to improve the lives of disadvantaged families and young people. My dissertation research in early 2023 focused on enhancing the lives of young people with low socio-economic status in Staffordshire through access to decent work, with a deep-dive into the barriers which disadvantaged young people face, including the wide-reaching effects of intergenerational worklessness. This research contributed to expertise in equity, diversity and inclusion, geographical deprivation, effects of disadvantage, marginalisation, and socio-economics, both academically and in practice.
