About Fiona Reid

Hi! I am a graduate of Cardiff University working in the tourism sector as a Travel Consultant for Trailfinders. I have a strong foundation in foreign languages, and I served as the chairperson for the Japanese school's Student Representative body and as a mentor for MFL Mentoring in Wales. I ran in Cardiff University's Student Elections in 2024, running a campaign across three social media networks and in person to raise over votes. With a six-year track record in customer-facing roles, I've honed my skills in sales and customer relations. Beyond that, my academic path has taken me to secondary school in the USA and university in Yokohama, Japan, and Valladolid, Spain, providing a global perspective and a deep cultural understanding. This journey has fostered excellent cross-cultural communication skills and heightened awareness of larger-scale political, cultural, and national relationships. I've also worked to an excellent standard throughout my education, placing in the 99th percentile in the US SAT exams amongst those graduating secondary school. Most recently, I've surpassed every benchmark in my current role while gaining invaluable experience in UK tourism trends, sales and client care. My field of interest combines communications, foreign policy, media, and problem-solving. I'm eager to utilise this unique blend of experiences and skills to make impactful contributions in a dynamic work environment. I would love to connect and explore potential collaborations or share insights into languages, cultural dynamics, or professional journeys.
