The test, also known as penetration testing, is a process where the analyst, using specials techniques acquired during his studies or during his own work or personal experience, goes looking for security vulnerabilities which allow him to break in to a system or network.A security assessment is performed to identify the current security posture of an information system or organization; this provides recommendations for improvement, which allows the organization to a reach a security goal that mitigates risk.
