For the past 17 years, Dr. Fitzroy Farquharson has conducted research on the effective and efficient usage of technology in education, especially in the math and science areas. Dr. Farquharson is an education technology consultant who focuses on the application of technology or instructional design in educational setting. He specializes in the planning, implementation, design, and evaluation of technology in education. He is currently a tenured Professor of Mathematics at Valencia College. Dr. Farquharson has conducted numerous presentations on Effectiveness of Interactive Mathematics at Computer Mediated Learning Symposiums throughout the US. Some of the colleges and universities with which Dr. Farquharson has presented include Del Mar College, Wharton County Junior College, Texas A&M University, Baltimore City Community College, and Hudson Valley Community College. Dr. Farquharson conducted workshops on Challenges for Online Math Students, Instructors, and Administrators and Improving Success for Online Math Students at various national and international conferences, AMATYC, Sloan C-Conference, MAA, National Math Summit, and ICTCM. He also participated in a discussion on the utilization of computer technology in the classroom at the National Symposium on Developmental Mathematics in Boston, MA. Dr. Farquharson holds a doctorate degree in Higher Education Leadership specializing in education technology, measurement, research design, and statistics from University of South Florida. Dr. Farquharson also holds a master degree in Mathematical Science from the University of Central Florida. His learning styles website on the Application of Learning Styles to Teaching has been a great resource for graduate students and education professional wanted to learn more about the application of learning styles to teaching. He is a co-author of the CPT Mathematics Report and contributed to the publication, Supervision by Cassidy, C and Kreitner, R.
