About Fizyaan Pathan

Mechanical Engineer with Strong Analytical and Teamwork Skills I am a recent graduate from the University of Leicester with a BEng in Mechanical Engineering (fully accredited by IMechE) and a first-class honors classification. During my time at the university, I completed a range of modules, including Tribology in engineering design, digital control and actuators, finite element analysis and design, and engineering management. I also completed several projects, including designing a fighting robot and creating a piston engine model in CAD, which allowed me to gain valuable experience in working collaboratively as a multi-disciplinary team and developing strong analytical skills. One of my key achievements was modelling and simulating an adiabatic compressed air energy storage system (A-CAES) for my individually driven project. I conducted a literature review and created and analyzed charging and discharging stage models of the system using Simscape toolbox of MATLAB/SIMULINK. This project allowed me to demonstrate my strong literature searching and communication skills, as well as problem-solving skills and ability to analyze data and write technical reports. In addition to my academic achievements, I have also been recognized for my extracurricular activities. I was awarded the college of science and engineering academic representative of the year nominee award for my representative achievements and student voice engagement at the University of Leicester Student’s Union. I also received the Leicester Award for developing transferable skills, self-awareness, and reflective skills through a personal development programme in conjunction with a design module. As a mechanical engineer, I am passionate about applying my knowledge and skills to solve real-world problems and contribute to the development of sustainable solutions. I have strong analytical and teamwork skills, as well as attention to detail, which allows me to approach challenges with a critical and creative mindset.
