About Flavien Bridault

I am the Director of Software Development of the Surgical Data Science team of IRCAD France and IRCAD Africa. My duties are- the assessment of the feasibility of projects supported by clinicians, in agreement with the Director of Research, and then the writing of these projects concerning the software part- the validation of the technological orientations, the choice of languages, libraries, protocols, development and deployment tools- the choice and the setup of the methodologies and processes to ensure maximum productivity and the best software quality- the supervision of the project managers, helping them to achieve their objectives- the communication with the IT team in particular to validate the hardware choices to match the software requirements- the daily management of the teamwork, encouraging rigour, curiosity, mutual help and knowledge sharing. I am passionate about computer science, especially compute graphics which was my primary expertise field. I am particularly involved in the software ecosystems we use in the team, which are C++, Python and Javascript. For these three different stacks, I also supervise the continuous integration and continuous delivery, with the help of GitLab CI/CD, Docker and Kubernetes.
